Likes

  • High quality converting landing pages can be built very quickly
  • Does not limit access to important features like A/B split testing at entry level pricing
  • Wide array of customizable templates
  • Can master the software in a matter of days
  • Helpful integrations available
  • Great support from Unbounce customer team

Drawbacks

  • Changes in mobile view can sometimes mess up desktop and vice versa
  • Reporting features can be improved

Essential Plan at $99 per month ($79 per month if billed annually)

The Essential plan is aimed at entrepreneurs and small businesses who are starting off in online marketing. Unbounce are generous in their feature selection at this entry level pricing tier. A total of 75 landing pages and 8 popups/stick bars can be used with the Essential plan which is more than enough for companies new to online marketing.

Monthly traffic limits will not be an issue with the Essential plan as it is set at 500,000 unique visitors a month. This traffic limit stays the same at the Premium level as it is a very high base level for new and growing businesses.

Critically, Unbounce provides full access to A/B split testing at the Essential plan level which is a noteworthy benefit. This feature is restricted to higher tiers with most of Unbounce’s direct competitors. It is a critical component in making progress with your landing page conversions and is a feature that many companies will upgrade for with other landing page software. Consider this a big plus as an entry level feature therefore.

Unbounce also gives full access to all their customizable landing templates and popups with the Essential plan. Again, this feature is typically restricted to higher tiers with many providers. They have been tested for convertibility  and are specific to various campaigns like lead generation, product launches and they are also designed according to different business industries.

Full customer support can also be received. Phone, email, and live chat are all available with the Essential Plan. Often, you are limited to email support at lower price tiers so this is a nice perk.

Essenital Plan Restrictions

AMP Landing Pages

Accelerated mobile pages (AMP) are only available at the Premium plan level upwards. In terms of mobile ads, they can help engagement and convertibility. If you are mobile focused, it could be worth checking the conversion rates at both tier levels and seeing if any increased conversions with AMP pages is worth the increased monthly fee of the Premium level.

Launch Scheduling

Sometimes you may want to launch a landing pages campaign in a different time zone or when you are away from your workspace. You can schedule these launches when you upgrade to the Premium plan.

Advanced Pop Up/ Sticky Bar Targeting

This feature allows you to target people specifically by city or country or specify what customer see based on their cookies history. You will need to upgrade to Premium plan to use these features.

Client Sub-Accounts

If you are working for clients, you are managing several of them from one Unbounce account. This feature is unavailable at the Essential level as it is more targeted toward marketing agencies.

Certain Integrations Unavailable

Both Salesforce and Marketo can only be integrated with Unbounce at the Premium plan level.

Page Redirects

At the Premium level you can redirect traffic to unpublished landing pages to other pages on your site. Many landing pages become outdated after a campaign ends and this ensures your audience isn’t reading old obsolete information.

Premium plan at $199 per month ($159 per month if billed annually)

The biggest difference at the Premium level is the maximum number of landing pages and popups you can publish at one time. This doubles to 75 landing pages and 16 popups

Upgrading to Premium will typically be a natural progression therefore as your business grows and you create more campaigns and popups to cover your increased reach and audience.

At the Premium level you can start to work on multiple client accounts with 5 sub-accounts made available. In addition, the restrictions mentioned above become accessible at the Premium level.

Gold Plan at $299 a month and other plans

The Enterprise plan provides all Unbounce’s features increasing the landing pages to over 375 and popups to over 40. The monthly traffic limit is also increased to over 500,000.

This plan is targeted toward marketing agencies and bigger companies with over 15 client sub-accounts available to manage.

The Enterprise plan offers a more hands-on customer service experience with a dedicated 1 to 1 manager to help companies ongoing requests. Launch specialist services and page migration functionality are also in place to help the onboarding process.

Custom free trial periods can also be arranged at the Enterprise level by contacting the support team.
